Hedge trimming
Cut outside nesting season, shaped to keep the light in.
Hedges get cut back hard enough to hold their shape until the next time, but not so hard that they brown off. Where a hedge is shading a border or a window, we will take the height down as well as the sides.
Timing matters more with hedges than anything else in the garden. Birds nest in them from spring through to late summer, so the main cut belongs in autumn and winter. If something needs doing sooner we will check it over first.
All the arisings go with us unless you would rather keep them for a compost heap.
