Border tidying
Weeding, edging and mulching so beds hold their shape.
A border that is edged and mulched looks looked-after even when nothing is in flower. That is most of the work - weeding it through, cutting a clean edge against the lawn, and topping up the mulch so it stays that way.
Shrubs get pruned in their own season rather than all at once, which is what keeps them flowering. If a bed has got congested we can lift and split what is worth keeping.
